"Beyond the ELDS"

About the Event
If you have completed one of our ELDS trainings, you are eligible to be part of the “Beyond the ELDS” cohort. It is designed to help you do an even better job of covering these state standards to prepare your children for kindergarten. We will meet four times between January and March, covering the ELDS in more depth. Each meeting will be more like a collaborative "think tank" than a training. The purpose will be to guide you to make better use of the ELDS in conjunction with your center/school's curriculum.
The focus will be on ways to observe children during play, using the age band(s) in the ELDS to determine a child's level of functioning, and using your curriculum to plan strategies and activities to help each child achieve mastery for age-appropriate emerging skills. We will take advantage of our collective knowledge and expertise to share ideas and hone our planning skills.
